Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know what to file and when?

The initial filing is straightforward and simple, just give us instructions to file and we take it from there. Amendment strategies in each country if not already known will be clearly outlined.  If you have a question about country-specific information in relation to your application, ask our network of associates and get free legal advice from each country's associate within 24 hours.

What about the prosecution stage?

Simply hand off your application with any amendments to us, and our associates can handle the rest. There is no additional work or coordination required on your behalf. Patent International has scouted the landscape and handpicked a network of associates that we can choose from depending on your needs.  In our diverse network of firms, there is a wide range of talent in each industry to ensure a successful prosecution process.

What about my outside counsel?

Most firms don't specialize in foreign patent filing. While local attorneys focus on drafting and prosecuting patents within their jurisdiction, they simply don't have the time or resources to coordinate with the best talent in every industry and country, and then negotiate the best prices for their clients. Your outside counsel will understand the value of using our services and you will still maintain your relationship for all of your local jurisdiction's filings.

Is Patent International a law firm?

Patent International is not a law firm and we do not have any attorneys on staff. We outsource the legal work at reduced rates without an additional fee while streamlining the process and providing administrative support.
